Ruth Rowe is the Enterprise Officer at Bridgend College. In her role she uses the skills and knowledge she acquired to gain SFEDI accreditation as a business adviser to embed a culture of enterprise and entrepreneurship. Ruth also holds an MAin Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education.
Educated at Nottingham University where she studied English, Ruth worked for two major charities, the Sue Ryder Foundation and Oxfam, before embarking on a career in retail.
After four years in a variety of management and project management roles at Sainsbury’s she joined Business in Focus to run the three year ERDF funded Women into Business Programme. The programme later won a prestigious Prowess Flagship Award under her leadership.
Following this project Ruth gave one to one business advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and delivered the Welsh Government’s business start-up courses. Ruth later became a Business Support Manager for the Regional Centre Service.
Ruth is delighted to be a trustee of the Fairwood Trust as she is passionate about helping people to fulfill their potential through education and training. She is also a governor of Bridgend College and sits on the National YES CPD Hub Steering Committee.
